# Web3 Integration

**Secure and User-Controlled Access:**

* **Wallet Connection:**\
  Researchers sign in by connecting their crypto wallet. This simple "Connect Wallet" option creates a secure profile and manages identity without relying on traditional login methods.

**Token Utility:**

* **DESCI Token:**\
  The platform uses its own token, called DESCI, to power the ecosystem.
  * **Agents:** At launch, the Agents will be free to use, allowing everyone to explore and experience the platform**.** As we begin integrating subscription-based databases to provide access to premium content, the **$DESCI token** will be required to unlock these advanced features.
  * **Launchpad:** DESCI token holders can participate in curated fundraising rounds for promising scientific and biotech projects. Token holders will be able to participate in dual launches with [Seedify.Fund](https://seedify.fund) and will gain early entry access on tokens who require a bonding curve to launch.
  * **Staking:** DESCI token holders will be able to stake their tokens to participate in launches and earn APY depending on their lock duration.
